WASHINGTON DC - The Kerry-Edwards campaign and the Democratic National Committee's (DNC) Voting Rights Institute will hold a press conference on Tuesday October 5th at the Democratic National Committee to unveil a special 2004 Election Protection Advisory Board and outline joint Kerry-Edwards and DNC Promote and Protect the Vote efforts for the 2004 election.
"The right to vote and to have that vote counted is the cornerstone of our democracy. After 2000, the eyes of the world are on us," said John Kerry. "We are going to make sure that this time every vote is counted, and that citizens can cast their votes freely."
There is no higher priority for the Democratic Party or for voters in this country," continued Kerry. "That is why I have directed my campaign and the Democratic National Committee's Voting Rights Institute to recruit a team of nationally prominent civil rights and voting rights attorneys to work with our legal team across the battleground states."
